Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025. What should businesses do?
September 2025
On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10, marking the end of technical maintenance and security updates for the operating system.
Since many organizations need more time to migrate to Windows 11, Microsoft has launched the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. ESU provides businesses of any size with critical security updates and allows them to continue using devices with Windows 10 for another three years after the end of support.
The Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program is offered as an annual subscription, with the cost depending on the period of use: Year 1 (2025 – 2026) – $61 per user Year 2 (2026 – 2027) – $122 per user Year 3 (2027 – 2028) – $244 per user
