Microsoft provides grants of up to $150,000 to Ukrainian IT startups

The Ukrainian Startup Fund has joined the global Microsoft for Startups Investor Network, enabling Ukrainian IT startups to apply for grants of up to $150,000 in the form of credits for Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure services. The initiative is launched by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Fund within the framework of Ukraine’s Global Innovation Strategy 2030 (WINWIN).

Credits are virtual funds that businesses can use to pay for advanced technologies from Microsoft. Credits can be spent on building and scaling cloud infrastructure, servers for storing large amounts of data, integrating artificial intelligence into their products and testing developments before entering international markets.

Credits from Microsoft will help Ukrainian startups optimize their operating costs for software and invest the saved funds in the development of their own products.

This enables startups to build and operate at professional scale while embedding strong security, compliance, privacy, and data protection from day one”, said Eugene Kahanovskiy, General Manager for Microsoft in Ukraine and the Baltic countries.

The program targets startups at the pre-seed to Series A stages that meet the following criteria:

• develop their own IT product, which forms the core of their business;
• are private, for-profit companies and do not belong to the consulting business, government institutions or companies operating in crypto mining;
• have not raised Series C or later-stage investments;
• the total amount of Azure credits previously received does not exceed $350,000.
