The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has significantly expanded the List of Banned Software and Communications (Network) Equipment

June 2026

On June 16, 2026, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSSCIP) announced a significant expansion of the List of Banned Software and Communications (Network) Equipment – from 40 to 619 items.

This update is the result of systematic efforts by the SSSCIP Administration’s Department of State Control in Information Protection and Cybersecurity. Service specialists conducted a thorough analysis of current decisions by the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NSDC) – enacted via presidential decrees – and incorporated the latest sanctions.

The SSSCIP notes that the update of the document is aimed at the timely identification of software products and communications equipment associated with sanctioned entities, as well as ensuring that the List remains up to date in line with the current security situation.

The updated List includes antivirus solutions Dr.Web and Kaspersky, as well as a large number of software products marketed under the 1C and BAS brands.

The expansion of the List is another step by the state toward abandoning high-risk russian software, which may contain hidden vulnerabilities or be used for espionage and sabotage. Earlier, the SSSCIP announced stricter liability for the use of software of russian origin.
